ABOUT CRYSTAL
Crystal Mountain is the perfect summer playground, whether you’re visiting Mt. Rainier or just taking a mountain getaway.
Take a scenic chairlift ride up to Crystal Mountain’s summit for Sunset Dinners or Sunday brunch. Explore Crystal's terrain at a more leisurely pace on foot, or let our expert guides take you on horseback up to the Pacific Crest trail. Throughout the national forest you'll find excellent trails for hiking and mountain biking, and we're just minutes from the Sunrise entrance to Mt Rainier National Park.
ABOUT MT. RAINIER
Those of us who live in Washington sometimes take “The Mountain” for granted, but we should all take a lesson from visitors from around the U.S and the world who consider Mt. Rainier a “must see” destination in Washington.
The mountain can only truly be appreciated by staying overnight, or longer, so come explore. Whether you're starting your day's adventure from the old growth forests of Ohanapecosh, or the sub-alpine meadows of Sunrise, there is an amazing variety of trails to choose from. Get up close and personal with the Emmons Glacier, the largest glacier in the lower 48, by hiking from the White River Campground. Tiptoe through the lupine around Tipsoo lake. Hike up the Burroughs Mountain trail where only the sky separates you from the mountain.
We agree with Ken Burns and his National Parks PBS documentary: “The National Park: America’s Best Idea”. Except we might change it to – Mt. Rainier National Park – The best idea anyone ever had!
Check with any of our lodging partners for our favorite places to explore. We’re happy to provide maps and suggestions.
