Many guests are surprised to learn that the summer is our busiest time of year, until they come for a summer visit. The days are long, the weather is glorious, and we can't imagine a place that's more beautiful. Or a summer vacation spot with more to do.

Even better are the compliments we get from our summer guests. We're consistently told that we are the nicest place they've stayed their whole vacation. Come for a visit with us and we think you'll agree!

There's so much to do without moving your car.
It's true that most of our summer guests visit Mt. Rainier, but if you don't feel like moving, you'll find there's tons to do right at Alta Crystal Resort.

Hiking:   We're located in the national forest, so you can step out your door on to miles and miles of hiking trails. Hike to Goat Falls and experience a hike that's so good, it's listed in The Mountaineers' "Best Hikes with Children". Hike up the Deep Creek Trail to Noble Knob for incredible views of Mt. Rainier. Walk past babbling mountain streams on the White River Trail. Or simply take an evening stroll on our many forest trails.

Biking:   We have mountain bikes for rent right here or, of course, you can bring your own. Some of the best trails in all of Washington are located right here. Beginners will love the trails over by Buck Creek, an easy 1-mile ride from here. Intermediates can explore the many Forest Service roads. And more advanced riders will challenge themselves on the Skookum Flats Trail (a Best of Washington trail) and the Suntop trail, to name just a couple.

Evening Activities:   Our evening activities are a wonderful way to relax, meet other guests and learn more about our incredible part of the world. Make s'mores at a nighttime bonfire.   Learn about the geology and history of Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. Win fun prizes at Wilderness BINGO.   Meet your fellow guests and relax at one of our legendary hot dog roasts or barbecues.   Click here for a sample summer weekly schedule.

Recreation Lodge and Recreation Field:   Play a rousing game of ping pong or foosball in our renovated 1920's recreation lodge. Borrow a board game. Check out our many books and magazines. Toss a softball or kick a soccer ball in our recreation field. Play volleyball and horseshoes. We have lots of kid and adult toys you're welcome to borrow.

Pool and Hot Tub:   Need we say more? Can you imagine anything better at the end of the day?

Movies Galore:   At last count, we have over 600 movies for rent, including lots of new releases. And all our accommodations have DVD players and VCRs

And there's even more all around Alta Crystal Resort...

Of course, you can do everything listed on our Home page. (If you haven't visited it yet, click here.) But there's even more.

Visit the Hobbit House at Federation Forest State Park. Hike to Greenwater Lakes for a day of fishing. Have a picnic at Suntop Lookout and feel like you're on top of the world. Climb up, and up, and up the Palisades Trail. Lounge like a lizard on the rocks of the Rainier View Trail. Take a 20-mile scenic tour on Forest Service roads. Find a natural jacuzzi along Huckleberry Creek. The choices are endless.

We could go on and on but you won't really know what it's like until you come stay here. Why not come up and explore for yourself?
